The Haines High School Student Council would like to thank the Haines People for Peace for providing us with a $500 grant to establish a relationship with an international organization that needed support. We researched different groups and finally decided to give this money to the Kilimanjaro Orphanage Center that Dr. Greg Higgins works with. We realized that having a community tie-in and a convenient way to actually get the money to them (through their website) was the best way for us to continue to be able to raise money for this organization in the future.
