Expect delays crossing the Klehini River bridge at Porcupine Crossing May 5-6 due to a review of the structure by inspectors with the Alaska Department of Transportation.
The inspection is scheduled for between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. each day.
Due to equipment and inspectors on the bridge expect closures for periods up to one hour. Use extreme caution when traveling through this area.
Federal regulations require the state of Alaska to complete safety inspections of truss-type bridges. These safety inspections require the use of man lifts or climbing equipment so inspectors can touch critical members.
