In all of Southeast Alaska, Haines has a most beautiful waterfront, if not the most beautiful. In fact, it is clearly a financial asset, perhaps unrecognized until you stop and think about it. Quality of life is hard to put into dollar figures, but we have that also.

There are sometimes places that have long been taken for granted that now require action. The borough should, without a doubt, own Picture Point so that those who follow may continue to enjoy what has long been taken for granted and that our natural beauty is also preserved for its inherent economic and aesthetic value.
