The Haines Borough and Municipality of Skagway assemblies are set to meet Monday at a joint work session in Skagway.
Haines Borough Assembly members will take a ferry to and from the 7 p.m. session in the Skagway assembly chambers, 700 Spring St.
Items on the agenda include upper Lynn Canal port development, tourism and energy.
Borough manager Mark Earnest said the idea for the session grew out of last year’s Southeast Conference in Petersburg.
“We just thought it would be good for our respective borough officials to get together on a somewhat regular basis … to discuss regional issues of mutual interest,” Earnest said.
He said no schedule has been set for future meetings with Skagway leaders. The assemblies were to have a work session in early February, but that gathering was postponed due to a canceled ferry sailing.
