Thanks to Auxiliary for sponsoring bee

A big thank you goes to the American Legion Auxiliary and Howsers IGA for sponsoring the Haines School spelling bee. Their generosity pays transportation and lodging for our school winner and a parent to attend the state bee in Anchorage on March 3. This year’s winner was Ketch Jacobson, grade 6, after 22 rounds! Second place winner was Marty Fowler, grade 5, and third place winner was Skye Posey, grade 4.

Thank you to Howsers for donating “Best Speller” T-shirts to each participant.
