The Sheldon Museum Board and staff thank the Chilkat Valley Community Foundation for helping to fund the documentation of the museum’s historical photographs. The museum holds several thousand photographs with images of people, places and events from Chilkat Valley history. In the last few years, Nancy Nash, who generally only works during the summer season, has worked on a documentation backlog. With this grant, she is able to continue working a few hours a week through this winter to make all of the photographs more easily accessed by researchers through the museum’s database. The museum is always seeking photographs, documents, and objects that will help to preserve and tell the story of the history of the Chilkat Valley.
