Klukwan’s Hospitality House will serve food during the eagle festival on Nov. 9, 10 and 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Hot foods, including chowder and chili dogs, will be served, said Johnnie Gamble, who serves as the facility’s cook and manager. “It will be kind of comfort food since the weather will be cold,” he said.
Tuesday has been burger night at the new building for more than a month. .
Gamble said the openings are a chance to put the building in use, try out the kitchen and familiarize residents with the operation. “We’re just figuring out what it costs to run the operation and things like that.”
Hamburgers with cheese, mushrooms and bacon toppings are offered, fries and a selection of hot and cold drinks. Hours are 3:30 to 8 p.m.
No burgers will be offered Nov. 9, when the village is holding its annual Jilkat Kwaan Heritage Center fund-raising dinner at the village ANS Hall.
The Hospitality House will be closed to the public Nov. 11 due to a pre-arranged tour.
