Assembly makes final tally of election

The Haines Borough Assembly met Oct. 12 to canvass the election held a week earlier. Voter turnout was 48.5 percent. The official results, including absentee and questioned ballots, are as follows:

Assembly seat B – Steve Vick, 512; Linda Geise, 287; John Winge, 276; write-in, 12.

Assembly seat E – Greg Goodman, 575; write-in (Karen Hess), 456; write-in (Dave Button), 11; write-in (other), 18.

school board seat B – Sarah Swinton, 814; write-in, 66.

school board seat E – Sean Cone, 487; Brenda Jones, 466; write-in, 17.

school board seat G – Anne Marie Palmieri, 863; write-in, 31.

Assembly seat E was not certified, due to a contest over Goodman’s residency.
