We have some excellent candidates in our local election and I admire all of them for putting themselves forward. I am most happy to see Linda Geise running for Seat B on the borough assembly. As chairman, I worked with Linda for several years on the Haines Planning Commission and I found that she has a special ability to listen with polite compassion to the public and to make wellreasoned and fair decisions. I think we are even more fortunate to have Karen Hess running as a write-in candidate for Seat E. From my years of experience working with Karen on many local issues, I think she will be one of the best assembly members we have ever elected, but for Karen it’s more difficult because you must remember to write her in. Whatever your personal opinions, get out and vote!
