Revenues were up 12 percent at the Southeast Alaska State Fair this year, including a 10 percent increase in gate revenues, manager Kelly Hostetler reported during the organization’s annual membership meeting Saturday.
Fair admissions increased to $71,109 from $64,536 in 2009 and $29,938 in 2008, Hostetler reported.
Events held at the grounds during the past year include a community Christmas party, Winter Olympics, Spring Fling, Beer Fest, community salmon barbecue, six farmer’s markets, community garden activities and little league games, as well as special events.
The fair wrote 11 grant requests, including six that were successful.
Directors elected at the meeting included Deborah Davis, Jerry Erny, Julie Anderson, Tom Morphet, and Larry West.
The meeting included a free barbecue and dance for fair volunteers inside Harriett Hall.
