In the past few weeks, I’ve heard of and seen many people dumping their fish wastes out at Four Mile Haines Highway with no respect for the people who do their subsistence fishing. I ended up with a net full of it. But that isn’t what really bothered me, it was people I’ve never seen before and others from Canada, including one who told me he’s fished our rivers and salt water with nets. How is this so? I heard also it’s happening up at Klukwan. A camper at Four Mile saw many people dump while he was there. Also, he said there were about three others and lots of waste. I’ve called Fish and Wildlife several times. Is this subsistence fishing open to anyone? A few of them were our locals. Why Four Mile and not where they caught these fish? This is serious and suspicious. People know who they are.
