A brown bag lunch meeting is scheduled at noon, Tuesday June 22 in the assembly chambers for members of the Safe Routes to School committee.

Borough coordinator Debra Schnabel said the purpose of the meeting is to review recent information and develop an action plan. Schnabel recently met with state traffic officials as well as the leader of the safe routes program statewide.

The program is aimed at encouraging student fitness by walking or riding bicycles to school and developing safe routes for students to travel.

Concerns previously cited by the group include the speed of traffic on Old Haines Highway that fronts the school and lack of a sidewalk along it.
