Approximately 100 acres were curbed in a fire that broke out Tuesday afternoon, June 17 at mile 28, according to Gary Saupe, forester for the Division of Lands of the State Dept. of Natural Resources.
City fire equipment responded first to the fire call, and the fire was under control that night, Saupe said. It got hot again the following day. Saupe said at press time that it was controlled and was being patrolled daily.
