The city of Port Chilkoot has taken the first steps toward developing a sewage disposal plant for the area, Carl Heinmiller, mayor of Port Chilkoot, reports.
The city has made applications to the newly-created Housing and Urban Development Department of the federal government for assistance in a three-part program:
- Rehabilitation of the Port Chilkoot water system.
- Rehabilitation of the Port Chilkoot sewer system.
- Construction of a sewage treatment plant.
