Community members, many of whom were involved with the film production of the 1991 Ethan Hawke movie White Fang, gathered in Harriet Hall to reminisce about the filming. Fuzzy Von Stauffenberg recalled pulling a mouse through the forest on a fishing line to attract a dog for one shot. Others recalled million-dollar production days in Three Guardsmen pass area for scenes simulating Chilkoot Pass. The production was made more complicated since the Chilkoot Pass scene was intended to look stormy, but the day of filming, it was clear. Crews also recalled stuffing backpacks with old newspaper since pillows were hard to come by in Haines. The event was part of the Gold Fever Festival commemorating the 125th anniversary of the discovery of gold in Porcupine Creek.
