Coast Guard Cutter Douglas Denman

February 9, 2023

The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Douglas Denman anchors in Lutak Inlet Sunday, Feb. 5. The vessel's crew of roughly 24 spent several days conducting damage control drills including simulated fire-fighting, shoring drills to prevent flooding and first-aid for simulated medical injuries. The crew also assessed places where a Cutter would be able to safely moor in order to onload food, fuel and stop for crew rest without having to remain at anchor, according to Coast Guard spokesman Kip Wadlow.
