Getting into the swing of summer
Lilly Cornett, among other students, learns the game last Thursday in the second of this summer's golf classes for kids. Niall Hackett, the golf pro at Valley of the Eagles Golf Links, has been leading the summer classes for seven years, teaching mechanics, rules and etiquette to youngsters, who go out on the course with a driver, an iron and a putter to learn the basics. The last three-day summer class for kids will be in August. This summer, the school district is using federal pandemic assistance funds to pay the fees for any students who want to attend one of the classes.
