Tuesday, August 14

A Beach Road caller reported hearing gun shots in the area.

A caller reported a juvenile not looking both ways when crossing the road at 0.5 Mile Haines Highway.

A Young Road caller reported a bear in the area.

Haines Police relayed a message to HARK regarding an animal emergency at 7 Mile Mud Bay Road.

Investigation continues into a report of sexual abuse of a minor.

Wednesday, August 15

A silver metal ID card case was reported lost in the Haines area.

A caller reported a tour bus broken down momentarily on Beach Road and Front Street.

A citizen reported someone tampering with their property on Mud Bay Road.

A caller reported a vehicle parked on the sidewalk on Chilkoot Street.

A Main Street caller reported a vehicle parked in excess of the permitted time.

A Healy citizen reported being harassed via social media and was referred to court to obtain a stalking order.

A visitor reported a lost brown duffle bag on Portage Drive.

A caller reported a bear on Small Tracts Road attracted to household garbage in the area.

A caller reported a deceased bear cub near 0.5 Mile Haines Hwy.

A caller reported hearing people in the Theater Drive area breaking things and yelling.

Thursday, August 16

An intrusion alarm was activated on Front Street.

A parking citation was issued for a vehicle parked in the wrong direction on Dalton Street and Second Avenue.

Friday, August 17

A caller expressed concern for an individual who was driving with poor eyesight in the Haines area.

Haines PD assisted a Second Avenue business.

Haines PD received a 20-day protective order to serve on a 49-year old female.

A fire alarm was activated in Third Avenue.

A caller reported a belligerent individual walking on Lutak Rd.

Haines PD conducted an officer ride-along.

Haines PD received a report of leaking fuel. The business responsible was advised.

A caller reported a vehicle swerving on the roadway at 0 Mile Haines Hwy.

A Union Street caller requested assistance in removing a domestic partner from the residence.

Saturday, August 18

A credit card found on Main Street was placed in safekeeping.

A search and rescue was initiated for four lost hikers on the Mt. Ripinsky race trail. The hikers were located.

A Mud Bay Road caller reported someone had entered their residence.

A caller reported a person was in the water near the Port Chilkoot Dock yelling for help. Haines PD made contact with the subject.

Sunday, August 19

Haines Volunteer Fire Department was recalled after an activated fire alarm was reported on Chilkat Lake Road.

A caller reported broken glass in the Port Chilkoot Dock parking lot.

A Riverview Drive caller was provided contact information to court regarding a civil issue.

A welfare check was conducted in the Haines area.

A caller requested to speak with the ministerial association and the message was relayed.

Monday, August 20

Haines PD investigated a possible missing person report, the subject was located.

A caller reported a reckless driver on Main Street, Haines PD and Alaska State Troopers made contact with the driver.

A caller reported an intoxicated driver on Mud Bay Road. Haines PD were unable to locate driver.

Haines Volunteer Fire Dept. and Haines PD responded to a two vehicle accident with injuries at 5 Mile Haines Hwy.

A Second Avenue caller reported a stolen piece of pottery valued at $800-1,000. Investigation continues.

There were seven 911, five canine and nine EMS calls, and 19 vehicle stops.
