Tuesday, March 13

A caller reported their vehicle was being followed at 3 Mile Haines Highway.

A message was relayed to the owner of a vehicle on Fourth Avenue that was impeding snow removal.

A citizen reported a lost driver’s license on Main Street.

Police conducted a civil standby on Dalton Street.

An investigation began into a report of a damaged street light on Main Street.

A message was relayed to a law enforcement agency in Anchorage to assist in a welfare check.

Wednesday, March 14

Haines Volunteer Fire Department responded to an expected death on Fourth Avenue.

A fire alarm activation on Dalton Street was determined to be false.

Thursday, March 15

A caller reported a possible intruder on Young Road, which was determined to be false.

A caller requested extra patrols of their residence on Small Tracts Road.

A caller reported an unattended item on Haines Highway.

A caller on Helms Loop reported receiving a call that was similar to the grandparent scam.

Police assisted another agency.

A caller requested civil assistance in communication with their landlord on Dalton Street.

A citizen reported a lost wallet.

Police assisted a citizen in retrieving their property near 1 Mile Haines Highway.

A caller reported receiving harassing telephone calls.

Friday, March 16

An officer contacted the owner of a vehicle that was parked partially in the roadway at 1 Mile Haines Highway.

Saturday, March 17

A mental health clinician was contacted regarding a suicidal threat on Third Avenue.

A message was relayed to the state Department of Transportation regarding a plugged culvert on River Road.

An investigation began into a report of a theft on Main Street.

Police responded to a report of an altercation on Main Street. Weapons were involved.

A caller reported an open door on Second Avenue. Police secured the door.

Monday, March 19

Police assisted in a civil standby on Dalton Street.

A parking citation was issued to a vehicle parked in the wrong direction on Ed Shirley Drive.

A 34-year-old man was arrested in Klukwan for domestic assault and taken to the Haines jail. Alcohol and domestic violence were involved.

There were nine traffic stops, four 911 hang-ups, three medical and four canine calls.
