Tuesday, June 27

A 32-year-old man reported an assault by a 45-year-old man near 0 Mile Haines Highway. Charges were forwarded to the district attorney. Alcohol was involved.

Wednesday, June 28

A wallet found on Front Street was turned in to police. The owner was notified.

A caller reported unwanted contact with a person on Mud Bay Road. The caller was referred to court to petition for a protective order.

A 35-year-old woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol level of .153 and was transported to the Haines jail.

Thursday, June 29

Police assisted another agency in Juneau.

An investigation began into a report of an assault at Chilkat Lake. Weapons were involved.

A caller reported fireworks on Fourth Avenue.

Friday, June 30

A citizen reported a vehicle driving recklessly at Mud Bay Road and Third Avenue. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

A caller reported unwanted contact with a person on Fourth Avenue. The caller spoke to an officer.

Saturday, July 1

A welfare check was conducted on a Haines resident on Young Road. The person was fine.

A citizen reported two lost backpacks at 5 Mile Lutak Road.

A nonresident reported being harassed on the internet by a Haines resident.

Sunday, July 2

An officer talked with two people who were behaving suspiciously on Main Street.

A caller reported an aggressive brown bear at 2 Mile Haines Highway.

A message was relayed to the harbormaster to unlock a gate on Beach Road.

A citizen submitted a public records request.

A welfare check was conducted on a Haines resident on Mathias Avenue.

A caller reported loud noises on Moose Lane. Officers were unable to locate the source of the noise.

Monday, July 3

A caller reported a $75 flower basket was stolen from Main Street.

A caller reported lost keys, a bike and clothing on Mathias Avenue.

A message was relayed to Haines Animal Rescue Kennel.

A caller reported they lost their wallet at Tlingit Park.

A caller reported fireworks on Small Tracts Road.

A confidential investigation began into drug activity on Second Avenue.

There were 3 traffic stops, 12 medical calls and 2 canine calls.
