Small dogs will get a chance to shine in the new Dinky Doggy Derby, where dogs 25 pounds and under will sprint to become the 2017 Top Dog.

Over 30 musicians, entertainers and dancers will perform on three stages.

Featured musicians include Ryan Harms, Monica Lettner Trio, Cosmo Fudge, Fishpickers, Nicole Edwards, God Particles, The Lacks, Eric Krasno Band, Onry Ozzborn, New Sound Underground, Girls Rock Camp, Hot Toddies, Dehli 2 Dublin, The Whiskeydicks, Jon Wayne and the Pain, Caribou Mountain Collective and Gordie Tentrees.

New performers this year include a Hawaiian Hula group from Juneau called Hui Hula O Manoa, with music to be performed by Haines’ Ukuladies.

Seattle’s Breakdancing Ninjas will be the fair’s kinetic act. The troupe will perform and give lessons.

Other musical events include the Southeast Alaska State Fair Parade featuring the Haines Marching Band. Favorites like Southeast’s Got Talent!, Southeast Singer/Songwriter Competition and Showcase, Fiddle Contest and Wearable Art review also will return.
