When international cruise ship terminal management company Global Ports Holding approached the Haines Borough about leasing its cruise ship dock, it touched off a local debate about cruise traffic that has yet to cool.
Now another company, Huna Totem Corporation, has approached borough leaders expressing competing interest.
Will Steinfeld reports this week on the outcome of that contact and what it could mean for the borough, though neither company has submitted a formal offer yet.
