Today is the opening day of the Southeast Alaska State Fair and they've sponsored a special edition of the Chilkat Valley Newsletter. In it, you'll find out what's happening in the Chilkat Valley through the long weekend. Highlights include daily pig races, Wearable Arts and stages jam-packed with music. See the full lineup below.
As you're planning your weekend, keep in mind that a free shuttle will operate between the ferry terminal, Visitor Center and temporary tent camping areas through Sunday.
