Dodov collection will benefit EMTs
In the spring of 2012, heli-skier Nick Dodov, son of my friends in California, died tragically in an avalanche here in Haines. At the time, his parents thought they’d like to come up here. I took collections to help them do that, and have held onto the money for that purpose. The collection jars stated “travel” as the purpose for the donations, but Nick’s parents have decided not to come up at this time. The $655 collected has been donated in Nick’s honor to our local emergency services, in particular for search and rescue equipment to be chosen as needed by the department. Thank you to everyone for your generous donations.
