Schnabel allegations factually untrue

In the Feb. 21 edition of the Chilkat Valley News, John Schnabel made several charges against Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins that were without basis and factually untrue.

First of all, Bill Thomas did vote for the oil tax cut HB 110 on the house floor on March 31, 2011. This information can be found in the House Journal, or online on BASIS, the online version of the House Journal, www.legis.state.ak.us/basis.

Secondly, I spoke with Jonathan about the Ethel Lund advertisement. He replied that before the advertisement was published he had spoken with Ethel and received her consent to run the advertisement. He ran the wording of the advertisement by her both over the phone and by email. Everything was done by the book. I’m not sure why there was confusion about the matter, but I do know that Jonathan made every effort to be clear.
