Tuesday, Feb. 19

A local business reported theft of money from an employee. Police began an investigation.

A chimney fire was reported on Second Avenue. Fire volunteers responded.

Troopers requested police assist in conducting a welfare check on a Mosquito Lake resident. Police responded and took a male into protective custody.

A caller reported being followed by a male in a silver pick-up truck after a reckless driving incident.

A child reported to her mother she had been touched in an inappropriate manner. Police initiated an investigation.

Monday, Feb. 18

A caller sought help finding a place to park two trailers for a week. Police advised.

Traffic stops resulted in verbal warnings for expired registration and failure to stop at a stop sign.

Sunday, Feb. 17

A fire was reported near the Eagle’s Nest trailer court around 7 a.m. Fire crews responded.

The caretaker of the Raven House reported trespassers and requested extra patrols.

Five traffic stops resulted in citations for expired registration and failure to carry proof of insurance and verbal warnings for driving too fast for conditions, broken taillight, failure to use a turn signal and carry a driver’s license, and not stopping at a stop sign.

Saturday, Feb. 16

Officers responded to a noise complaint from an apartment at Third Avenue and Main Street. Officers responded.

A caller reported her keys stolen.

An individual reported breaking a finger when trying to calm down an intoxicated person three nights prior.

A complaint concerning possible telephone fraud was reported.

A noise complaint was reported at a trailer court near Fourth Avenue and Union Street. An officer responded and asked people there to keep it down.

Fire crews responded to a reported fire at 6 Mile Mud Bay Road.

Officers defused a disturbance reported outside a downtown tavern.

Three traffic stops resulted in verbal warnings for exceeding the posted speed, a malfunctioning taillight and failure to stop at a stop sign.

Friday, Feb. 15

A caller reported noise coming from a home in the Chilkoot subdivision. Police investigated and everything was fine.

Four traffic stops resulted in two citations for driving with license revoked and defective taillight and two verbal warnings for defective taillight.

Thursday, Feb. 14

A person reported a bag of trash in the road at the intersection of Main Street and Old Haines Highway.

A woman sought help securing shelter for a few days while awaiting the ferry. Ministerial Services assisted.

State crews were advised of a rock slide near 2 Mile Lutak Road.

A library employee sought help for an out-of-town visitor who could not remember how to return to his relative’s residence. Police escorted the visitor to the residence.

Traffic stops resulted in one citation for non-compliant lighting on a vehicle and a verbal warning for expired registration.

Wednesday, Feb. 13

Police received a report of possible drug activity.

A caller reported a reckless driver near Haines Highway and Allen Road.

Two callers reported icy road conditions on Second Avenue. Borough road crews were advised.

A citizen reported a reckless driver on Second Avenue failed to stop at a stop sign and pulled out into oncoming traffic.

A caller reported icy roads on Main Street. State road crews were advised.

Police arrested a 44-year-old male for suspicion of driving under the influence and reckless driving.

Dispatch received 16 medical calls and seven canine calls.
