Checking out a legacy yellow cedar near Piedad


Renee and Wesley Hoffman count rings on a 70-year-old yellow cedar that fell during November's heavy snows. A $1 million study that includes a test plot in Haines is aimed at determining whether species like cedars will move north in numbers with global climate change.
