Monday, April 30

A caller requested assistance with her vehicle that was broken down on FAA Road. A friend was contacted.

An officer issued a verbal warning for failure to stop at a stop sign.

Sunday, April 29

A caller reported a trailer had been moved onto Beach Road and was obstructing traffic.

Saturday, April 28

A person reported the theft of tools valued under $500 taken from a jobsite downtown.

A caller reported a gutted cow moose left at the side of 38 Mile Haines Highway. State troopers said the moose was poached and the incident is under investigation.

An out-of-town caller requested help from dispatch to contact a Haines resident.

A caller requested help during an altercation with someone refusing to leave a Deishu Drive residence. An officer responded, and the person left.

A caller questioned whether a controlled burn was being appropriately handled on View Street. An officer responded, and determined there was no problem.

An officer saw improper disposal of bags of garbage at a Small Tracts Road former place of business and served the owner with a notice for inappropriate handling of bear attractants.

A caller reported an out-of-control fire at a Young Road smokehouse. A fire crew responded and controlled the fire. Damages were minimal.

Friday, April 27

An officer made a traffic stop and helped the driver bring the vehicle’s taillights into compliance.

The Haines clinic reported injuries to an elderly patient bitten by their family dog.

Dispatch assisted the Craig police department with contacting a Haines resident for a personal matter.

A caller reported paperwork was stolen from a downtown business. Police said the theft likely arose from a domestic dispute.

Thursday, April 26

A caller reported snow damage to bushes and fences at a Main Street RV park.

A vehicle parked at 4 Mile Haines Highway was tagged to move in 72 hours.

Wednesday, April 25

An intoxicated woman was arrested after smashing the windshield of a vehicle on Barnett Drive in a domestic dispute. The woman was charged with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.

A caller requested a welfare check on an acquaintance, and everything was fine.

Tuesday, April 24

A caller reported a felon in possession of a firearm. The case is under investigation.

A caller requested help in locating the registered owner of an abandoned vehicle left at a downtown apartment complex.

A traffic stop for a motorcycle resulted in a citation for not having a motorcycle endorsement.

An officer warned a motorist for speeding.

There were 11 medical calls and five calls about dogs.
