Girls and boys from fourth grade to junior varsity, from Haines, Juneau, Skagway and Whitehorse, competed in three divisions.

“It was a very good tournament and went mostly smooth,” said Sarah Swinton.

She and husband, Ralph Swinton, helped organize the tournament along with Ashley Sage and parents and volunteers helping with refereeing and scorekeeping.

Several Haines players made the all-tournament teams, including Celia Bower and Grace Jones for the girls’ “A” division; John Gross for boys’ “A” division; Aaron Jones for boys’ “B” division; Autumn Jones and Destiny Court for girls’ “B” division; Madison Chapin and Shaye Otton for girls’ “C” division and Dylan Swinton and Charlie Bower for boys’ “C” division.

Kayley Swinton nabbed the most valuable player distinction in the girls’ “B” division.

Haines players will wrap up their season at a Juneau tournament in March.
