Laws don't make town better

Concerning off-premises signs, wake up people! All these regulating ordinances and laws have nothing to do with making Haines a better place. They are made to increase the business of government. Every regulation requires someone to enforce it, someone to process it, and you to pay for it. The more regulations we have means more government employees. Employees get paid, as they should. You get to pay them. Why do you think your taxes have gone so high? It’s simple: You are employing more people to tell you what you don’t want to hear or do. Odd how those who make laws for you to obey, do not obey the laws they swore an oath to obey. How did Haines ever make it to 2011 without all these regulations?
