Town's dedication makes Dolphins go
At the end of April, 15 Haines Dolphin Swim Team swimmers competed in the final swim meet of the season in Whitehorse. It has been a great season. We would like to thank the community of Haines for your overwhelming support of the program and swimmers through corporate and individual sponsorships, donations, swim-a-thon pledges, countless volunteer hours, and overall encouragement. Please support our donors – they are listed on the donor board at the pool. The swim team is a parent-run organization with the families of the swimmers putting in many hours to make it all happen. Thank you all for your dedication. Tigger Posey and James Alborough orchestrated yet another amazing swim-a-thon fundraiser for which we are so thankful. And, of course, a team cannot succeed without a great coaching staff. Thanks to Jim Green and Marian Carlson - you are the best! And finally, we are sorry to be saying goodbye to head coach Steve Vick. Steve has led the team for many years from a beginning team to a well-established program by encouraging and motivating kids to do their best through positive support and being a good role model. It has been a great journey. Thanks and best of luck.
