The Emblem Club convention and Canadian Thanksgiving holiday made the weekend busy, but it could have been busier. Poor fishing prompted many anglers to pull up stakes. To keep visitors around longer, how about marketing Lynn Canal Community Players’ fall show with the lure of coho fishing?

"Coho and a Show" would be an opportunity for LCCP to add performances and revenues to a show that’s already being put on for locals. Marketed with ads in Whitehorse, Skagway and Juneau and with posters or flyers at area RV parks and motels, such a promotion could boost numbers of weekend visitors and give them a reason to stay another night.

For years, the summertime melodrama, "Lust for Dust." helped keep visitors around, as did attractions like the Fort Seward salmon bake and Chilkat Dancers. If LCCP continues to stage shows in early October, why not use them as an attraction?
