Monday, Oct. 11

A caller reported a bear getting in trash on Deishu Drive.

Sunday, Oct. 10

A Second Avenue motel sought police help to find the owner of a vehicle with an alarm going off.

A caller asked police to call a third party after their vehicle got stuck on Lily Lake Road.

Saturday, Oct. 9

Police referred to the Haines Ministerial Association a caller who requested a safe place to stay for the night.

A caller reported a window of their car had been shattered while the vehicle was parking in the lot at the swimming pool.

A caller reported a bear got into a dumpster near a motel at 1 Mile Haines Highway.

Friday, Oct. 8

Police gave a person a ride home from a local bar.

A caller reported a vehicle parked three feet into the roadway on Small Tracts Road.

A caller reported a parked vehicle violating the one-hour parking on Main Street.

State road crews responded after a caller reported a gravel slide between 14 and 15 Mile Haines Highway.

Thursday, Oct. 7

A Comstock Road area caller reported a vehicle full of tires was on the edge of their property. Police contacted the owners, who said they’d sold the vehicle.

A caller reported junked cars blocking their property on West Fair Drive.

A caller reported a minor accident at a Second Avenue motel.

An abandoned vehicle with a flat tire was reported near Jones Point.

A minor vehicle accident was reported near the borough office.

Troopers were advised of a request for help contacting the owner of a boat at Letnikof.

Wednesday, Oct. 6

A caller reported a bear cub stuck in their shed on Deishu Drive, and a sow trying to reach the cub tearing up the shed. The bears were gone when police arrived four minutes later.

Police contacted the ministerial association to help find lodging for a person passing through town.

A caller reported a male who appears to be making himself throw up disturbing schoolchildren near Sixth Avenue and Main Street.

A caller reported a bag of money missing from their vehicle. The caller later found the money in the vehicle.

An officer responding to a call about an overturned car downtown found that it had flipped while under tow.

Tuesday, Oct. 5

A person reported a boat at Letnikof was taking on water.

A caller reported a tree down on Mud Bay Road.

Multiple callers reported a boat submerged at Letnikof harbor.

AP&T was advised of a call that a transformer blew on Small Tracts Spur.

State road crews were notified of a call that a culvert was overflowing and water was running into the road at Cathedral View subdivision.

A caller reported a transformer sparked and the lights went out temporarily on New Hart Street.

There were 13 medical calls and eight about dogs.
